Cloud Over Mountain
Update on the cloud picture. I still don't know where it is from or who took it, but further research sent me to this website where it says the cloud is a Lenticular cloud. It also explains more about how the cloud is formed.
Also, while doing research on this picture I found this other website which I find fasinating. Something to click on when you have some time to kill. Some of the pictures aren't working and it also seems that he hasn't updated since May 2009.

Updates
Well, this has been a very busy week. Jake’s 1st birthday party was last weekend! I haven’t had time to upload many pictures yet, but Chris has some great pictures on her blog CMB photos. Jake ate his chocolate cupcake without getting all that messy. Julia and Norah on the other hand had cupcake everywhere! That’s okay though, it was a very fun party.
I am taking Introductory Statistics at WCTC on Mon, Wed and Fri mornings from 8:30-9:30 before work. I haven’t taken a math class in at least 11 years! I had an issue with the first homework assignment, but I got through it.
My bowling this half of the season has been much better. I finished the last half at an average of 127 :( But my last two Mondays I averaged 184 and 165 so my overall average will be going up. I’m finally bowling more like I think I should.
We had book club last night on “The Zookeeper’s Wife”. I only made it halfway though before I gave up. It was very dull and a very heavy topic of WWII Nazi Germans and their crazy ways. Will I ever finish, maybe, but not likely. Becky joined my book club and she seemed to enjoy it even though she also didn’t finish the book. I have to pick the next book so hopefully I pick a good one.

Happy Birthday Jake!
Jake is one today!
I took him today for his one year check up and he is 50% for weight (23 lbs) and 90-95% for height (31.5”). He also has a cough which the doctor said was a respiratory virus from a cold. He has been given the green light to eat all the foods they say to stay away from before he turned one, so he can now have whole milk, chocolate, strawberries, nuts, peanut butter, etc. The only thing he can’t have is pure honey, but we never have that at home. We just need to watch him with each new food to make sure he doesn’t have an allergic reaction, but since the family doesn’t have strong food allergies he should be fine. We are also getting ready to turn his car seat around to forward facing. I’m sure he will love that!
Even though he wasn’t feeling the best with the cough he was in good spirits. We celebrated his birthday with a cookie. He will get a chocolate cupcake at his party on Saturday. Here are some pictures of Jake from each month:

Happy New Year!
Last night was one of the more low-key New Year’s Eves that I have had, but it was not any less special. Jamie, Jake and I met up with Jenny, James and the girls for dinner. We went to Rosati’s in Oconomowoc where we endulged in pizza, noodles and I had a calzone. It was mighty tasty! Afterwards we went back to Jenny’s house where the kids played and I opened up a bottle of ice Reisling. The Reisling was very sweet and thick (almost like a syrup). We only had about 1/2 the bottle as it was a little too sweet for our tastes. I was told to try it over vanilla ice cream so I will have to get some and try it out. After playing two rounds of Guess Who with Jadyn we were all tired and it was way past the kid’s bedtimes. So we went home and we all went to bed by 10:30 pm.
