Fundraisers

Last week we got a fundraiser from Jake’s daycare.  It is his first fundraiser.  I think it is a little young for a 13 month old to be selling things for a fundraiser, don’t you?  He is selling Butter Braids which seem to be a cross between a bread, coffee cake and kringle.

Jamie and I discussed this and decided that we would buy 1, maybe 2 (since Jamie wants the cream cheese and I want anything but the cream cheese), but that we are not ready to bring this stuff to work.  Besides, at $11 each they are expensive!  I really think the kids should do the selling and when Jake gets old enough I will take him around to try to sell what he can.  I am more likely to buy from a kid that asks me directly than from the parents.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Jake has been busy all last week making all sorts of Valentine's Day projects at daycare. How they get him to sit still enough to do any of this I will never know. Jamie and I do not celebrate Valentine's Day, but I wanted to wish all my friends and family a Happy Valentine's Day.

Let The Games Begin!

Last night was the opening ceremonies for the 2010 Winter Olympics.  I watch as much of the Olympics that I can.  Winter or Summer doesn’t matter, I like them both.  I really liked the Beijing opening ceremonies two years ago, but Vancouver’s last night was pretty good with all the special light effects on the stage.  I recorded it so I was able to fast forward the walking in of the athletes and some of the songs were kind of long.  There was a hitch at the end for the lighting of the cauldron, and I forgot to record a few minutes past the scheduled time.  Fortunately, I did see the cauldron light at the last minute before my recording stopped.

I added a poll on the right. Do you watch the Olympics?

Let the games begin, and GO USA!

Overwhelmed

I’ve been feeling very overwhelmed lately.  Work, stats class, bowling, Jake and Jamie, everything adds up.  I also entered the biggest loser competition at work.  I’m down a few pounds, but I haven’t had time to get to the gym this past week.  Jamie was on call all week and weekend so I had to be available to be with Jake in case he needed to run out to a job.  I hope to get back to the gym this week, but the week is already filling up.  I’ll try to post more, but all I want to do with my free time is relax on the couch.  I did get a pedicure last week Sunday using a gift card I received at Christmas.  That was very relaxing and just what I needed.
